We are five chanters in the Coptic tradition who grew up from a very young age singing in the parishes of St. George and St. Mary in Surrey, BC. From our earliest years, we were drawn to the beauty and depth of Coptic hymnology.
Through years of standing side by side in liturgical services and outside, a close brotherhood was formed. The countless hours of learning, praying, and singing together fostered a rare chemistry and unique musical identity. Whether within the walls of the church or in our daily lives, the bonds of brotherhood deepened, which in turn shaped the music we produced.
In the years leading up to our productions, we often recorded small clips and simple pieces, driven purely by love for the hymns. In early 2018, we entered the studio for the first time to record a demo for a Kiahk medley — a small beginning that would eventually blossom into a greater mission: to preserve and revive the treasures of Coptic chant, to give voice again to ancient and forgotten hymns, to compose new offerings rooted in the same spirit, and to present them in ways that remain true to the sound and heart of the Egyptian tradition.
We are dedicated to carrying forward the liturgical legacy of the Coptic Church by expanding its sacred repertoire — reviving ancient hymns, restoring forgotten or rare texts, composing new works, and exploring creative modes of presentation. In all that we do, we remain rooted in the authentic sound, language, and spiritual heart of the Egyptian tradition, striving to preserve its distinct beauty while offering it afresh to each generation with reverence, depth, and artistic excellence.
